REVOLUTIONARY DUBLIN & 2016

Revolutionary Dublin & 1916

TOUR OUTLINE

Dublin was the epicentre of the Irish struggle for independence and the rising over Easter 1916 is the best known and most important turning point. On this 3 hour tour you’ll visit some of the key places associated with the rising but you’ll also visit other places associated with previous revolutions and uprisings as well as hearing stories and little nuggets of information that you’d struggle to find in academic tomes.

4 REASONS TO DO THIS TOUR

  1. You’ll step into the past with a local and visit the spots where rebels fought for the freedom of their country.
  2. Start the day at the Irish Famine Memorial on the quays and hear about one of the key events that ensured the Irish would never be content to remain in the Empire.
  3. eFollow in the path of the rebels and visit the areas where the fighting was at its most fierce. Visit the rebels' headquarters and read moving letters written by the rebels to their loved ones, which are now carved in stone.
  4. Stop at Arbour Hill Cemetery and Prison which is the burial site of 14 of the leaders of the rebellion.
Ruairi knows his stuff, put on your walking shoes and enjoy a great morning.
